College Clubs

DPGITM supports various societies and clubs with primary aim to direct dynamism of students in constructive directions to produce a total integrated personality through assimilation of the culture, literature, art, music, dance arena and sports activities, in addition to community services. The student clubs and societies provides each student the opportunity to explore their passion outside their regular studies and collaborate and learn as part of a community that is bound together by shared interests.

RYTHEM: Cultural and Music Club

“A student should live and feel the culture to gain the best values out of it”

The cultural activities have always been recognized as elementary need for complete development of a student. The Cultural and Music Society of DPGITM has mandate to inculcate the awareness for their overall development. The students are encouraged to organize as well as participate in cultural events at institutional /state/ national level. By this, the society assists in development of their coordination and management skills, along with their creative abilities. AARAMBH- Orientation Program, SANGAM- Annual Tech-Cultural Fest and Fresher’s Day celebration are the prime events of the society, and it also invites artists of International and National repute in the campus to introduce the cultural heritage to the students. It also conducts Inter House cultural competitions round the year. The cultural club can be sub classed in dramatics, band formation, dance rockers and nukkad-natika. The students showcased their talent in different cultural events as per their interest and passion. Through creative skits, students presented various social and environmental issues like dowry, child marriage, water conservation and women empowerment etc. The students who had great singing skills presented mythological and melodious fusion songs in various events. Our students clinched many remarkable positions in intercollege events held in other universities. In SGT university, nukkadnatika presented by our students won 2nd position. DPGITM always motivate the students to participate in the initiatives taken by Government of India. Few events like Imagica- Painting Competition, Avishkaar- Intercollege project competition and National Earth Day celebration were organized under G20 initiative to promote the spirit of sustainability and conservation of environment. RANGMANCH- A Glimpse of Incredible India was conducted recently to celebrate Yuva- Sangam, an Indian government initiative to promote “Ek Bharat- Shreshtha Bharat”.

PACE: Yoga and Sports Club

“A healthy mind rest in healthy body”

The Yoga and Sports Club of DPGITM ensures it for students in campus. It plans and organizes various sports and athletic events round the year. This society takes advantage of excellent sports infrastructure available in the Institute, in addition to sports complex for its activities. The students are encouraged to represent their branches and program in various track and field events and also sports events like football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi and chess etc. In addition to round the year sports activities, during SANGAM, the Club organize Annual SportsDay as its major activity.

Sports and Yoga are considered as important activities for overall development of students. Some of the important Yoga benefits include anti-ageing, balance and flexibility of body, increase in knowledge and wealth, improvement in mental health and development of personal and social values. To make our students aware about the benefits of Yoga and for practicing Yoga and other sports at DPGITM campus, “PACE- a Yoga and sports Club” is being introduced.

NDLI- DPGITM Club

“Knowledge is the best gift to live a successful life”

The National Digital library of India is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not only just a repository with a search/ browse facility but also provides a host of services containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media for the learners/users community. It is a project under Ministry of Education, Government of India , through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. DPGITM has a dedicated club on NDLI to provide access to reputed books and lectures. This step is taken to motivate the students for reading good manuscripts to gain maximum knowledge shared by subject experts on online platform.

Youth and Biosphere Club

All forms of life in the Geosphere and Hydrosphere including human beings and all sorts of organic matter not decomposed yet combines to form the Biosphere. All this distinguishes Earth from all other planets in our solar system as life evolved (and continues to evolve) since Earth’s early history between 4.5 and 3.8 billion years ago.The formulated Youth and Biosphere Club seeks to promote solutions reconciling the conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use. We promote learning sustainable development under diverse ecological, social, and economic contexts, touching the lives of people.

The Vision of the Club is to create awareness among youth about environmental pollution and motivating them to work for the improvement of human and planetary health. The Club initiates to empower youth to accelerate the execution of innovative strategies and management options for combating the environmental/health problems. Various activities were done under the shade of the club, some of the activities are enlisted below

  • The Club celebrated “World Environment Day-2022” and arranged a visit to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, Gurugram. Approximately 100 students participated and got the opportunity to see plant and animal life in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The one-day visit also made them realize the advantage of being closer to nature and providing a clean environment.
  • The club has also initiated efforts for animal care and protection. Students of the Club visited NGO-“People for Animals” which runs animal shelter and Hospital. Students showed their affection towards animals. The students learnt how NGO takes care of abandoned animals by treating and medicating them.
  • A Guest Lecture was organized by Youth And Biosphere Club. Dr. Mona Sharma, Head, Department of Environmental Studies, Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh spoke on “Only One Earth”. Students actively participated in Poster and Debate competitions organized on the same day.
  • Various plantation drive activities were conducted under the Club. Plants and Trees were planted all over the college campus to make it green. All the faculty and management of the college enthusiastically participated in the noble cause of tree plantation.
  • o Earth Day-2023 was celebrated by the Club where Dr, SD Attri, Member Technical, Commission for Air Quality management in NCR and adjoining areas, New Delhi was the Chief Guest and spoke on G-20: Environment and Sustainable way of Life. Whereas Sh. Naveen Goyal, State Coordinator, Environment Protection Department, BJP, Haryana was the Guest of Honor and shared his experience and motivated the students to plant trees and conserve the environment.

PRAYAAS: Social Welfare Club

“Kindness and humanity are the best companions of success”

DPGITM always believe in imbibing and inculcating the spirit of kindness and humanity in the students. To build responsiveness among students about the social responsibilities, PRAYAAS – Social Welfare Club is established. A donation drive “EK AAS” was successfully drived by the club to help the NGO, orphanages, old age homes and slum areas. The club also organized blood donation camp, awareness programs in near- by regions. This type of drives proved helpful for the children living in slum areas and orphanages. Text books, stationary items, grocery, sensitization material and basic medication were collected by student volunteers and donated in orphanages and slum area. This club aims to create awareness and sensitize students about social issues while at the same time motivating them to develop leadership qualities through self-awareness and make them responsible citizens.

Literary Club

Literary Club is aimed to inculcate the effective communication among the students. The club is committed to develop analytical and creative thinking skills. Besides to inculcate interpersonal skills, communication skills needed for personal interviews, group discussions, the literary club helps students to groom their personalities so that they feel confident about themselves. The objective of club is organizing activities to provide opportunities to students for developing their communication skills. From time to time, the club organizes a rich and diverse array of literary activities such as extempore, debates, declamations, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story writing, quiz contests, interactive/lecture sessions, etc. Through these activities, literary coordinators (student and teacher) reach out to language and literature lovers and try to create a space for sharing emotions and thoughts. Club activities slash any fear lingering in one’s mind regarding proficiency in any language and help the members do away with the menace of “Stage Fear”. The vision of the club is to inculcate love for language among students and enhancing their critical thinking, reading, writing and communication skills. “Book Review presentation” is an annual activity of the club to enhance the public speaking skills of the students. The literary club is a paradise for thinkers, readers, and writers. It is the place where students are free to think, read and write on the topics of their interest and choice. The club also provides a plateform to the students to share their insights on politics, philosophy, spirituality, philanthropy etc. The Literary Club is more than just a club for reading and writing.

We welcome anybody and everybody having passion for writing, reading, and creativity.
